Eduardo Pérez Cortéz, also known as «Lalo» produced at his family’s palenque in El Nanche, Oaxaca. Following in the footsteps of his father, Tío Tello, and previous generations, he upholds a uniquely artesian tradition of production compared to the rest of the producers in Miahuatlan. Lalo harvests exclusively mature agave and maintains a process of hand mashing that is essentially lost in the region.
